A Reason For Thanksgiving

All you have to do is open your eyes and look…

When I look beyond my ego
I find a cause to sing
When I look around at the universe
I find joy in the tiniest thing
When I look within at the love I’ve known
I find the laughter that seems lost
When I look into your eyes my friend
I see a life worth any cost

If we just take the time to open up, open our eyes, open our hearts and our lives we find there are miracles in every moment.

I just happened to be talking to my Chiropractor Dr. Alan Dubin about belief and how the smallest doubt can affect the outcome of a situation, when he mentioned that he had just started reading a new book. Our conversation led to my watching a lecture by Dr. Bruce Lipton. Presented in 2000 during a lecture to colleagues this video – over 2.5 hours – was amazing to watch.

If you have not had the pleasure of acquainting yourself with any of the works by Dr. Lipton – I assure you – you are in for a treat. In The Biology of Belief Dr. Lipton goes extensively into how your thoughts affect your genes (and you life isn’t about hereditary cause and effect). His extensive historical documentation, in-depth cellular research and  ability to communicate the information so that even someone who didn’t particularly care for biology in school could grasp the wide reaching effects of what he was saying was impressive – to say the least.

Check it out here: The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, & Miracles

Yes – it’s a pretty amazing universe and we have much to be thankful for so in the USA or any other county in this wonderful world – make it a beautiful day!

Pelmanism: Book 2 on Purpose

As I move into the second book on Pelmanism I like the way he speaks about your purpose coming from feelings rather than thought. As he says, “there is more heart in it than head.”

Just like in Freedom’s Formula  when we talk about finding our own freedom it’s the ability to get to the root of the issue – shine some light on it – and move forward.

With purpose and an inner freedom in our lives we have energy, we’re filled with sunshine and a spirit of love. It’s easier to be “present” for those around us. We can recognize the miracles that are around us every moment of every day.

Your purpose may be seen in your activities with your family, your church, your community…or even the world. By focusing on what you want in life you will help to create more of it. Mother Theresa would attend a Peace Ralley but never an Anti-War Ralley – she focused on what she believed in.

One of the other points that Mr. Ennever points out in the second Pelmanism book is that having a purpose helps develop your recollective ability and we will look more at this one in the next post.

In the mean time – make it a great weekend and for those of you in the US – have a great Labor Day holiday.

In Harmony,
Kira Wagner

Pelmanism – historical connections continue

Ok - just making a brief observation here…

I’ve just begun to read the first book, The First Principles of Pelmanism. It seems it’s primary function is to aid in success in the market place based on the statement, “Today it is the business man with the greater acumen in studying the conditions of the market, the abilities and resources of his competitors; … to whom the world gives its prizes.”

The interesting connection is that in two of the physical examples he uses, the first regarding setting the time table and the second speaking about the things that we know about the mind…his examples are straight out of my current life. The night that I’m not available for any study is Tuesday as many of you know I direct a Sweet Adeline Chorus (women’s barbershop) – Harmony Showcase and it keeps me on my toes. The second example alluded to a student desiring to study a forign language, specifically Russian. So I have the Rosetta Stone course in Russian – and I haven’t gotten very far to date.

There is definitely a sense of - - what? so you’re looking over my shoulder from almost 100 years ago?

Like I said more of an observation than anything else at this point.

Until tomorrow – make it a great day!

Star Trek, Personal Growth and Pelmanism

Do you remember the Star Trek episode where they ended up visiting a planet that was so overcrowded no one was ever alone? There was a sense of oppression even though, on the one hand, it was wonderful that there was no illness so everyone lived a long life. On the other hand, there was no illness…so EVERYONE lived a long life and over population had taken on pandemic proportions. There was no place to go to find external peace. The residents of the planet were looking for a way to introduce new disease so that they could be able to have some space again.

Internet marketing of the “latest and greatest personal growth idea of the century” feels like it has gotten to that point. While there are many wonderful programs out there provide personal growth, self-actualization and empowerment with the best ones based on concepts thousands of years old, today’s marketing techniques make it sound like something new, forgotten, unheard of in centuries…you know what I mean. Moreover, it seems everyone is doing it from the great to the not so great. In addition, as I found some have deviated far from the boundaries of integrity.

Within Freedom’s Formula, I am always looking for ways to ask better questions, make better choices and embrace change that allows me to speak to more hearts. I hear from many of personal growth experts on a daily basis. I am open to tempering my thoughts and actions to be more in alignment with my understanding of truth as revealed to me – from whatever the source.

A few days ago, I received an email promoting the “Lost Art of Pelmanism”. It was from Joe Vitale. Now I have read Zero Limits and I liked his concepts, as we seem to agree on a number of points. I have even taken him up on a recommendation for health products. There is a “but” and it is a big one as far as I am concerned. He is not accessible. His email addresses bounce, you know, that reply email that is not valid. His communication is on a mass-market scale even to business associates. There is more too.

The information on Pelmanism did sound very interesting. Mental mastery, personal growth…you know the routine, so I followed the link to find out more about it. On the subsequent website there was a sentence caught my eye. It said, “These twelve books explain very clearly how to train your mind with exercises, concepts, and secrets that just aren’t available anywhere else.”

If this information was really around that long – how is it not “available anywhere else”?

So I decided to follow a different path.

I spent some time on Google looking up Pelmanism. I found a card “game” that is supposed to be based on the books. This is the same type of card game that I have played with my kids for years – turn cards over and match pairs by remembering where the different cards are located. I found a site that allows you to download all of the twelve books at no charge. Then I found the original author. Moreover, I found an antique bookstore about an hour away with all 12 books.

My initial intent was to do a comparison of content along with reviewing it from the perspective of Freedom’s Formula.

I went ahead and downloaded the PDF from Devox out of South Africa. It is riddled with errors – some obvious others not so. Up front, the reader is told of the potential for error with text saying, “Despite careful editing it is possible that some of the original contents is missing or spelled wrong.” Personally, having done extensive transcription of old news papers, “careful” editing does not allow for missing content or spelling errors as it can lead to different interpretation of content.

I bought the Lost Art of Pelmanism by Joe Vitale and Pat O’Bryan – it was a small investment to have the content in PDF format and to see how these two master markets and self-help gurus have used the information.

Both PDF versions include the routine “Copyright © 2005. All rights reserved. No portions of this work may be reproduced in any form…”

I also bought the 12 original books from Cromwell Books. For an anachronistic moment, I was thrilled to see that the original owner R. S. Rankin and the dates in book six 10/10/29, twelve 6/15/30. From the content of the books and brief reserch on the web – he could even have been Robert Stanely Rankin – professor professor of Political Science at Duke University. A Poly Sci Proffessor could very easily have used this information to great advantage. At least it makes for a very cool connection with history.

What surprised me upon first scanning, is that the content of the Lost Art of Pelmanism is little more than plagiarism. They appear to have simply changed the title and put their names on the books. Additionally, the layout is exactly the same, page breaks, hyphenation and all. Then you add a slick marketing page and voila, money in the bank. All for the little time it took to convert the text, put up a couple of web pages for sales and thank you/ product delivery then some emails to sell it all. Again and again since it started at least three years ago.

Joe Vitale and Pat O’Bryan do not seem to have even put anything new (of their own) in Mr. Ennerver’s work nor credit Mr. Ennever.

In any case, I am going to see how Pelmanism by William Joseph Ennever relates to Freedom’s Formula and the Handbook for Freedom. I will be keeping you posted at least once a week and we’ll see if it takes me as long to get through these as it did Mr. Rankin. :)

Until next time – go out and make it a great day!

In Harmony,

Kira

The Beginning – Sexual Freedom For The Married Woman

As we embark on this journey that holds the promise of insights, secrets and tantalizing details it’s important to understand that I have always had a deep trust in the power of God. I’ve always known that God was there. I’ve always know that things would turn out OK in the end.

What I have doubted is the “rightness of now” if you will. The knowing that this moment is perfect or “as it should be” has been called into question again and again. I have met those who tell me “I’m not afraid of anything”. I now know it was a mirror of my profuse declaration that “I’m not angry”. I don’t get angry. In the end it is all the same. It’s a way of hiding. Using the “I’m not…” is nothing more than a belief that these words will actually work as some kind of self protection.

I’ve been talking about writing this book for over a year now – and to those of you who said “I can’t wait – let me know as soon as you’re done” thank you for believing in me! I have more empathy for authors who write a series of books and all of a sudden the "next installment" is so long in materializing.

There was more of the journey to complete before this could be penned.

I didn’t think it would be this hard. I mean the last book took me a couple of months to write from the time I started until it was “finished” and I thought that was how it was supposed to be for me.

Sure there were times when I hated it – I didn’t want to write in the first place. Or I didn’t think I did. But that is for later. I recall Jack saying, “It ONLY took you 8 weeks to write this. I’ve been working on mine for four years!” Like I was doing something “wrong”? He was the one that told me I needed a book in the first place and that my keynote speech “wasn’t”. It was more like a seminar or workshop so I might as well write "the book of it".

Then the inspiration hit to write about something that was such an AH-HA for me. Share my experience in the transformation within the confines of my relationship with my husband and the boudoir.

How many married women know what it means to “fake it till you make it” in the bedroom?

How many married women never get to that “make it” part?

I can’t tell you how many women believe that their husbands don’t know that they are faking it. I thought so. But you can’t hide that … not really.

Sex had changed so drastically for me that I wanted to write about it, about the possibilities, the incredible fulfillment and release when a woman brings all of her “self” to that most intimate relationship.

Then I started taking a look at the “parts”. The sex itself. I mean doesn’t it start there? The foreplay, the copulation, the orgasm. And it all stopped.

Nothing.

In fact, making love, started to become “just sex” again as I tried to dissect it. Oh there was still a major difference; I could have an orgasm with just being with my husband. I didn’t need any of the external toys. But it was loosing something.

So I told myself that maybe this book just was a “BSO” (bright shiny object) or distraction as my friend Melanie likes to call things that deter us from completing a project.

I let go of the vision and once again, turned my thoughts – my energy, to what I thought would be a profitable venture. I have spent the last 8 months creating a company.

It finally hit me when I was working on a big dream vision and had so many “buts’” that I was asking and helping others to find their passion while I was very carefully avoiding mine.

While I was beginning to see results – it still was one-off, if you will, from the peace of being in complete alignment with who I am.

Sexual Freedom exists when you, I, or anyone for that matter, is truly FREE. When we are empowered to face the fears, to laugh at our so called weaknesses and be present.

Freedom happens when we acknowledge, somewhere deep down inside, that NOW is all that we have. It’s ALL that matters. It’s the ability to know that if I left this earth this very moment I will have lived a full life and made the most of every moment.

Freedom is not wishing that I had done _____ yesterday or last week or last year, or even ten years ago. It’s letting go of the “if only” energy. It’s dropping the “tomorrow” or “someday” I’ll syndrome. That Someday Isle only exists in our imaginations.

We get hung up in the fear or recrimination or guilt of what we didn’t do. Little things like sending our kids off to school without saying, “I love you” as they walk out the door, going to bed upset with your spouse. It’s the frustration with ourselves when we don’t listen to the small voice that says “you can do this” and then putting our innermost dreams upon some shelf that gets in the way of “now”.

So this book is all of this together. It’s looking inside and embracing to the ability to be present and enjoy the now. It is about acknowledging and quieting the committee. Those voices in your head, which tell you, “you should have done…”, “why did/didn’t you…”… you get the idea.

It is being OK with the “why me” and “poor me” self-talk. Letting go of the good/bad, right/wrong language of others.

It’s asking the intimate questions and ultimately knowing the truth in the statement, “This too shall pass.”

You’ll find enlightenment here – or you won’t. It’ll be your choice. And you’ll agree with me or you won’t. I know that too. There have been times when I didn’t agree with me!

Whatever your choice, I wish you well. I wish for you all of the Freedom you can possibly embrace.

Thank you for being part of my journey.

The Gifts We Pass On To Others – What’s YOUR legacy?

Have you ever thought about the legacy that we’re leaving behind? The legacy that you’re leaving behind? It’s powerful when we realize that every one of our actions (including our thoughts and words) has an effect on everyone in our immediate circle, and, on a much higher level, on everyone and everything in the universe.

We teach our children our beliefs as well as our values. We attempt to teach them to love what we love, and hate what we hate. Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote a very poignant song entitled You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught. In part, the lyrics go like this;

You’ve got to be taught to hate and fear,
You’ve got to be taught from year to year,
It’s got to be drummed in your dear little ear—
You’ve got to be carefully taught…

At some point during the adolecent years they begin to search for who they are, independently of us – this period is often looked upon as the rebelious age, and in a very real sense, it’s correct – but let’s just say that it’s a good thing that they strike out on their own and search for a greater understanding of life. I say thank goodness.

Many bosses tell their employees and those that work for them not only what to do and how to do their job but also what to think, how to act, and more. It’s called micro-management in the business world. It’s control, or rather fear, at the heart level.

Today we have professionals who help us perpetuate the cover-up. While I KNOW that there are wonderful people in all professions who are filled with integrity and honor and do there job in service to humanity there’s a line from the movie The Kid (where Bruce Williis is an Image Consultant with his own set of problems) that goes…"You help people lie about who they really are so that they can pretend to be someone else."

While it isn’t about the "lie", it is often about the cover-up. It’s about the "show". Too many people are more concerned about the image than the heart. We impose this sense of propriety upon our children, our spouses (keeping up with the Jones’) and most importantly, on ourselves. I believe that this is the true meaning of Freedom, having the courage to be who we really are. To speak out in loving support of a better world for everyone.

There have been thousands of books written on the subject as well as numerous movies. The French novelist, Anatole France once said, "To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act."

It’s true that many people have lost their dreams–sometimes as a result of not seeing their dreams–only to effectively manifest no noticeable changes in their lives. Others choose to completely ignore dreams as a waste of energy.

Consider the dream as a vision – if you don’t know where you’re going, it doesn’t matter what road you’re on. Therefore the dream or the vision is like our compass, and the action we take as we follow that road (sometimes not even being able to see the ground before us) will eventually land us there. Dreams provide numerous road signs along the way that remind or affirm to us that we’re on track. But only if we’re listening honestly to the words and pictures within the dreams.

There are people out there that can help us find a better pathway…smoother…more solid…and I would like to introduce you to a few of them right now.

In less than 24 hours the movie Pass It On will premier in Las Vegas, NV. It highlights the principal that taking action is a key element to obtaining success. This film has a wonderful cast of individuals sharing pertinent and timely information. Fortunately (or at least serendiptously) while I was attending a workshop up there last week, I had the opportunity to meet the producers Scott Evans and Greg S. Reid and learn a bit of their vision.

I’m always on the lookout for great movies and books to share with others so here’s what I found out.

Jon Dixon, Director of Pass It On, says this about working on such an inspiring project– "Working with many of the world’s greatest thinkers, inventors, authors,
speakers, athletes, business people and passionate individuals has been breathtaking! Through mentorship and taking action, everyone can live in abundance, follow their bliss to success and enjoy a happier life! Learn It, Live It… and Pass It On!"

For the first time EVER, a diverse line-up of modern-day masters collaborate in a feature length film to share the blueprints for optimal success that elevated them to the top of their fields. World-class athletes, Hollywood stars, inventors, congressmen, inspirational giants, best-selling authors and powerhouse marketers share their proven methods to achieve a life of Wealth, Inspiration, Success & Happiness.

If you’ve seen The Secret or have embraced the Law of Attraction (what goes around comes around)–now Pass it On reveals that it’s the Action behind the Attraction that makes your dreams come true. Movie goers learn how to optimize their passion and natural talent to maximize their potential.

Pass It On offers the opportunity of a lifetime to gain practical insights from an all-star cast including legendary athletes Evander Holyfield, Ken Norton and Olympian Ruben Gonzalez, stars like Blair Underwood, Elaine Hendrix, Mario Lopez, and Neil Patrick Harris, motivational giants Denis Waitley, Brian Tracy, Les Brown, Debbie Allen, Niurka and Bill Walsh, syndicated radio personality Dennis Prager, former congressman Ed Foreman, teachers featured in The Secret John Assaraf and Michael Beckwith, best-selling authors Steven E, Harry Paul, and host of other great minds!

Finally, I also had the privilege with spending several days with a couple of the stars, James Malinchak, Co-Author of Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul as well as Steven E, author of Wake Up Live the Life You Love while I was at James’ speakers boot camp.

Here I am with both of them: James and I with my book Handbook For Freedom, and Steven E. and I.

I’m having a blast living my life – so the question is, do you have the courage to make the changes today and find you’re own freedom? Grab the golden ring and be all that you were meant to be!

Who are you to deliver your product or service?

I was in a conversation yesterday with a friend who asked the question, "Who am I to deliver this (their)message?"

I have to admit that I have asked that question of myself, some days more than others. The simple answer is "Who am I to refuse to deliver a message that I have been given?" Especially when I believe that this is my path, my purpose in life.

As we talked, I realized that there are many people who are out there talking about the Law of Attraction, Love and Fear, Freedom, Choice, I’ve even seen Freedom Formula (as opposed to Freedom’s Formula) and the list goes on.

A few of the notables that I have since come in contact with, or become aware of, since starting my own company Freedom’s Formula include;

  1. Don Miguel Ruiz with The Four Agreements
  2. Byron Katie with The Work
  3. Neale Donald Walsh with Conversations With God
  4. Esther Hicks with The Teaching’s of Abraham
  5. Dan Millman with The Peaceful Warrior’s Way
  6. Joe Vitale – Mr. Fire
  7. Chellie Campbell with The Wealthy Spirit
  8. Laurie Beth Jones and the Jesus series
  9. Louise Hay and the healing work
  10. Suzanne Falter Barns with her Joy work
  11. Tony McGee with the Destiny on Demand
  12. Royce Morales with Perfect Love Awakening
  13. T. Harv Eker with Peak Potentials
  14. Melanie Strick with Success Connections
  15. Wayne Dyer with Motivation and Intention

and the list goes on – thank goodness!!!

There are people out there who will only be able to hear YOU. The way you talk, they way you interact – the same message but only through your voice.

Why is it that we find ourselves in the doubt about our message and/or the fear that there isn’t enough if there are others "doing what I do"?

I’ve listed 15 other individuals who have put the message of freedom, love, joy, abundance, happiness and peace out their in their own way.

I currently live in Southern California and there are well over 21,000,000 (million) people who share this part of the state with me. If anyone bothers to do the math, that STILL is over 1,000,000 potential clients for each one of us. Now each of our business’s are not limited to just one geographic location as speakers, authors and seminar leaders. Therefore, that number is only a small fraction of the possible clientele available to each one of us. The big plus is that this particular song is so important that the more of us that are singing it together – the more in harmony the world will experience.

The goal is to keep the eyes focused on the the abundance not the lack.

Regardless of your profession, if you are passionate about your calling, then make the choice today to have the abundant life of your dreams.

Whose language are you using anyway?

Last night I went with my husband and several friends to see Conversations with God, based on the book of the same name by Neale Donald Walsh. It was interesting to notice the parallels and see that he was saying the same things that I do in conversations. To recognize that it’s all about fear or love and the feelings. Something that is, at the same time, so simple yet so profound.

Some of the other parallels were;

  • The broken neck and the sensation that came up when he tried to remove the neck brace the night in the tent–I could feel the nausea, the pain as the weeks and months after my own posterior cervical laminectomy came flooding back to me.
  • Seeing his reaction to the homeless on the street and the transformation that came about when he was so destitute that he found himself eating leftover food in a dumpster and to know what it felt like to be hungry and have only bread and water to eat for several days in a row.
  • To see him as the aggressor in a relationship because he was so starved for love even though it was all around him but he just couldn’t feel it.
  • And last – but most important in this post – to hear him say that, "God speaks to us in our own language so we can hear" and having come to realize just recently that I must put my ideas, my formula for freedom, in words that others can understand but only as a function of "moral duty".

It’s this last item that I’d like to spend a few minutes on. As I heard that in the theater I knew one of my largest obstacles was my own language, my need to make it duty. If God sees fit to talk to me in my language out of love, what ego based fear is prompting me to come at this from a moral, self-righteous "duty" platform?

If I, or anyone reading this, have a message to deliver, how much more powerful is it when I put it in words that others can hear and understand? I see it everyday around me with people being in a button because someone is speaking in a language other than English. Why, because it feels like they think they’re better than us? Maybe they are saying something "about us". Maybe they are even hatching some "evil" plot to overthrow the government. Isn’t it ridiculous how far we’ll let our imaginations go as a result of fear?

If we have a message to get across, to business partners, associates, clients, family, friends it’s just possible that "putting it in terms so simple as to ensure that all within the hearing of our voices will feel the power of the words", is tantamount to ultimate success and moreover – just as Neal Walsh said, it is done from a place of love. From that magnificent place of power in each of us.

What voice will you choose to speak with today?

Latest book and FEAR

This morning I’ve just completed the first draft of the book – actually it’s more of a short story but it is what I had in mind. It was more of a be open and accept that I’m supposed to write this because it’s something that is inside of me. NOT something that I feel comfortable with or even believed that I could ever do. I don’t have delusions of grandeur about it being revolutionary or anything incredibly profound – my goal is that it will be quick, simple reading that illustrates the value of "hope".

I’m sending it off to my daughter who is working with me to help me with the literary eloquence and to see the bigger picture – then we’ll look at doing the next one :)

This afternoon I’m putting the plan on paper so that I can get it to Adam and get his feedback.

A thought to share with you – one of the most common definitions of the word FEAR is that it’s an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Consider this – if you "feel" your fear and it’s YOURS what does it feel like to invalidate it by having someone tell you it’s false? If I’m afraid – it’s very real. If illness is brought on by fear – the illness is very real and it can be life threatening. While it’s not a term that I would use in normal conversation I prefer to say that FEAR is a state when you want to F*** Everything And Run. The "run" manifests itself and panic attacks, depression, "excessive" sleep (only you know if it’s more than your physical body needs), lack in life and the list goes on. As I said – it’s food for thought. I personally choose to acknowledge and teach that the fear is very real to the person feeling it – the better choice might be to stick around and see what I can learn. (No I am NOT talking about hangout in a burning building just to see where the fear is coming from … but that is another story)

What’s the latest

So it’s been over a month since I’ve posted – in that time I’ve been to Yosemite, a conference in LA with The Marketing Mentors – Adam Urbanski, Las Vegas for the Sweet Adelines International Competition and watched my good friends and singing sisters in The Rich-Tone Chorus take their 4th International Gold Medal, spend an evening with T Harv Eker – The Millionaire Mind and begin to lay the foundation for Station MSFM where I will be sharing the ups and downs of making some freakin’ money and looking at approaching my next series of books and talking with Jean-Noel Bassiour writer of the book Space Patrol and journalist, about specific possibilities and methodoligies, preparing for a video demo with Speaker Services and the rest of life that is part of every day living.

As part of the Station MSFM I’m exploring and understanding how different tools work that will enhance my business, visability and bottom line . This includes the concept of Technorati tags that I still don’t have my hands around – and I’m working on it!

The next post will be the intorduction of Station MSFM, what it’s about and how it will help you.

Until then – MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!
